Describe a trip downtown as a youngster.
“Main Street was 1 block from our house and it was 2 blocks
long. There was Barth Hotel and Store on
the North side of the street. Then Wilbur’s
Store, then the drug store and the theater and Whiting’s Store & Garage. On the South side there was Schuster’s (a little
bit of everything) Store, Anderson's Hardware Store, and Barth’s Printing Shop
over Tom Davis Café. Dr. Boulder’s
office, Patterson’s Garage and some one’s hotel that burned up and I think 2
boys were killed in the fire. It was
terrible.”
